Article: Digital transformation flows into success for water company in China
An Australian water treatment company is winning business in China amid the COVID-19 outbreak.
Despite disruptions caused by COVID-19 earlier in the year, Western Australia-based Quantum Filtration continued to work closely with its Chinese agent using digital platforms to win and progress a sewage treatment project in north China.
With improved treatment efficiencies, Quantum’s solution met the higher discharge standards required by the project owner.
Quantum’s products and processes also provide solutions for laboratory wastewater treatment to remove bacteria, suspended solids and heavy metals that may be contained in the wastewater. Solutions for treating drinking water at hospitals, commercial and residential buildings have also been developed to meet specific market needs.
‘China’s process of rapid economic growth and high levels of urbanisation over the last several decades has accentuated challenges around water scarcity and pollution,’ says Cliff Hawkes, Director, Quantum Filtration. ‘We see great opportunities here with the Chinese Government’s efforts in improving the living environment and health for its people. We were part of the Austrade water mission to China in 2017. We’d be keen to leverage the digital platforms and the key networks Austrade has established in China,’ he says.
Quantum Filtration Medium exports its DMI-65® product, an advanced oxidation catalytic media and services, to over 42 countries. The technologies used to help remove heavy metals such as iron, manganese and arsenic are used by large international companies. The DMI-65® technology is certified safe to use under the international NSF/ANSI 61, for drinking water applications. The DMI-65 has a life span of up to five to 10 years.
