Os valores t\u00edpicos no <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Waikato_River\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">rio Waikato,<\/a> na Nova Zel\u00e2ndia, s\u00e3o de cerca de 20 partes por bilh\u00e3o (ppb), enquanto o padr\u00e3o de \u00e1gua pot\u00e1vel da Nova Zel\u00e2ndia \u00e9 de 10 ppb. Tornou-se uma grande preocupa\u00e7\u00e3o e desafio no abastecimento de \u00e1gua devido \u00e0 sua toxicidade e propriedades cancer\u00edgenas. As fontes de contamina\u00e7\u00e3o por ars\u00eanico em \u00e1guas superficiais e subterr\u00e2neas s\u00e3o origin\u00e1rias de fontes naturais e antropog\u00eanicas. Em ambientes ricos em oxig\u00eanio onde as condi\u00e7\u00f5es aer\u00f3bicas persistem e sob condi\u00e7\u00f5es naturais de pH, como (V) \u00e9 predominante, enquanto (III) domina em um ambiente moderadamente redutor com condi\u00e7\u00f5es anoxicas, como s\u00e3o encontradas em \u00e1guas subterr\u00e2neas. Uma m\u00eddia catal\u00edtica baseada em s\u00edlica foi avaliada para remo\u00e7\u00e3o de ars\u00eanico. Foram realizados experimentos de coluna superior de bancada e lote para estudar o desempenho da m\u00eddia catal\u00edtica sob uma s\u00e9rie de condi\u00e7\u00f5es operacionais.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Keywords<\/strong><br \/>\nRemo\u00e7\u00e3o de ars\u00eanico, \u00e1gua pot\u00e1vel, m\u00eddia catal\u00edtica, remo\u00e7\u00e3o de ars\u00eanico da \u00e1gua pot\u00e1vel<\/p>\n<p><strong>Materiais: <\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/dmi65.com\/pt-br\/tecnico\/como-funciona\/\">O DMI-65<\/a> foi obtido da Quantum Filtration Medium Property Ltd e ativado usando hipoclorito de s\u00f3dio (NaOCl) antes de ser usado para experimentos de adsor\u00e7\u00e3o de coluna e em lote. A solu\u00e7\u00e3o de a\u00e7\u00f5es de As (V) (100 mg\/L) foi elaborada pela dissolu\u00e7\u00e3o as2O5 (Sigma-Aldrich, 99%) em \u00e1gua deionizada (18,2 M\u03a9 cm-1; Barnstead, EASYpure). A solu\u00e7\u00e3o de estoque \u00e9 dilu\u00edda com \u00e1gua deionizada para obter as solu\u00e7\u00f5es necess\u00e1rias como (V) utilizadas nestes experimentos. Uma solu\u00e7\u00e3o de estoque de 50 g\/L de cloreto f\u00e9rico (FeCl3) e 5 mg\/L NaOCl foram preparados em frasco volumoso e dilu\u00eddos \u00e0s concentra\u00e7\u00f5es necess\u00e1rias de 50 mg\/L FeCl3 e 5 mg\/L NaOCl. Os ajustes de pH foram realizados utilizando solu\u00e7\u00f5es de \u00e1cido clor\u00eddrico de 0,1 M (HCl) e hidr\u00f3xido de s\u00f3dio de 0,1 M (NaOH). Todos os produtos qu\u00edmicos e reagentes utilizados neste trabalho foram de grau anal\u00edtico.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resultados:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Assim, a partir dos resultados desta investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, mostra claramente que o DMI 65 tem grande potencial na remo\u00e7\u00e3o de As (V) da \u00e1gua pot\u00e1vel para menos de 10 \u03bcg\/L, que \u00e9 o padr\u00e3o estabelecido pela OMS, EUA EPA e DWSNZ.
